Alan has more than 30 years of experience in financial and operational turnarounds, crisis management, asset and business purchases and dispositions, forensic accounting, auditing and tax preparation services.
During the past 25 years, Alan has represented troubled companies, secured creditors, unsecured creditor committees and equity holders serving as a financial and operational consultant, interim CEO, CFO, crisis manager, forensic accountant and fact witness in financial and operational turnaround and management consulting engagements. Prior to this, he participated and led numerous acquisition searches, conducted financial and operational due diligence, structured and negotiated acquisition purchase prices, structured financing and conducted post-acquisition on-site operational, organizational and financial planning services. Alan’s strengths are assessing a company’s operations and leading management teams in order to develop and implement action plans to create or improve immediate and long-term profitability and cash flows. He provides the structure and experience necessary to quickly and effectively re-establish operational and financial control through liquidity management, operational and financial re-engineering, and communications with all parties-in-interest.
Alan’s industry experiences are numerous and include heavy and light manufacturing, food processing, warehousing and distribution, professional services, specialty services, healthcare, printing and publishing, public transportation, trucking, retail, education, and health and human services.
Prior to joining HMP, Alan held several positions as a Director, Managing Director and owner with other leading firms in the turnaround industry representing troubled companies, secured lenders, Chapter 128 Receivers and Assignees for the Benefit of Creditors
Alan has lectured members of various trade associations, professional societies and written articles published in various trade journals and other publications. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Rory David Deutsch Foundation, a charitable foundation for pediatric brain tumor research, and also serves on the Board of Advisors of the Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Program at Duke University Medical Center.
