Through the first 15 years of his accounting career, Mr. Grancher has spent more than five years specializing in financial and turnaround consulting.

Following a year with the Turnaround Division of Mesirow Financial, Matt spent seven years as the Controller and Accounting Department Head at a global dietary supplement manufacturer located in Idaho. Initially brought in to facilitate the sale of the company, Matt co-chaired a complete overhaul and installation of a new operating system, while championing the financial due diligence of the sale of this $50MM dollar company. In addition to his duties managing the accounting department, he reduced expenses by $300K during his first year. After staying on with the new management for four years, Matt returned to Chicago to focus his career on consulting.

His recent involvements have been across various industries including food manufacturing, steel processing, construction, and scrap metal. Matt’s emphasis on each project has been cost and data analysis, expense reduction, and training/coaching staff to increase their accounting sophistication while identifying process, procedural and internal control enhancements to strengthen the businesses.

In Matt’s first engagement with HMP, he served as the effective Controller and managed the accounting department of a $300MM fuels distributor.

Matt’s expertise in data extraction and distillation is compounded by skills to quickly comprehend and sift through IT, ERP and operating systems. In addition to providing diverse and malleable analyses of raw data, Matt identifies more efficient, effective and informative methods of data processing.

Matt received his B.A. in Business with Accounting and Finance concentrations at Dominican University in San Rafael, CA. He then attended the Liataud Graduate School of Business at the University of Illinois-Chicago where he received a Master of Business Administration with a Finance concentration, as well as a Master of Science in Accounting. Matt is a Registered CPA in the State of Illinois.
