Steve has a passion for guiding organizations on their strategic and continuous improvement journey.  He is skilled at helping leaders link behaviors and actions with business results.  He provides a unique approach to business planning — and applies operational excellence principles across the organization to improve clarity, focus and alignment.

Steve has successfully founded, operated, and transitioned multiple businesses to new ownership. He has also held senior executive positions in finance and operations for global food manufacturing and consumer products companies including, CFO, VP of Finance and IT, and VP of Strategy.

Representative Engagements
Strategy Development and Deployment Facilitator

Hired by the CEO of various manufacturing companies with global footprints to develop breakthrough and actionable strategic plans to drive significant growth and profitability while enhancing company culture.  Worked closely with leadership and management to effectively develop and deploy plans. Facilitated cadence meetings to keep strategies on track.

Transformation Project Leader

Successfully organized, assessed, and deployed teams to transform business operations from order to delivery. Developed systems and processes to drive enhanced productivity in both transactional and operational environments. Engagements led to improved customer service and lead-times, improved working capital and productivity, and higher employee engagement.

Big Scale Value Analysis (BSVA) Leader

Led multiple end-to-end BSVA programs with operating income improvement goals that exceeded $10MM each. Responsible for communicating plans, organizing teams, and project selection and execution oversight. Developed scoreboards and dashboards to monitor and report progress. Key project included development of a new sourcing model for North American manufacturing that resulted in nine manufacturing sites being consolidated into three.

Costing System Development/ SKU Profitability

Reengineered a convoluted product costing system that was driving poor decision-making and behaviors. Used activity-based and lean accounting methods to redevelop costing system and re-state customer/brand/channel P&L’s down to the SKU level. Costing analysis served to spearhead strategic changes to channel, customer, and brand strategy, as well as lead to SKU rationalization initiatives.

Manufacturing Strategy

Worked with COO and team to develop a North Manufacturing Strategy for rapidly growing business serving Amazon and other large customers. Strategy included existing operations and site evaluation/selection for new plant locations. Developed models to analyze operating and freight costs in relation to Amazon DC locations to develop high service, low-cost manufacturing and distribution model. Deployed strategic planning process to drive changes. Company successfully grew revenues from $150 million to more than $600 million in three years.

Factory of the Future

Successfully led consulting team to develop a factory of the future for a multi-billion-dollar organization headquartered in the U.S. Assessed customer service and operational models, developed key attributes for factory of the future, and worked with client teams to develop the new model. This improved lead time and delivery performance, reduced working capital and new manufacturing processes and techniques, and resulted in significantly lower costs.
