Tim Monahan
Managing Director
Tim has more than 20 years of restructuring experience with loan workout negotiations,  in- and out-of-court debtor restructurings, and various financing and M&A transactions. He has advised distressed entities in the development and execution of financial and operational restructuring options, lenders and other capital providers in troubled asset situations, as well as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and Tier 1 suppliers on issues and strategies related to distressed Suppliers.

Tim’s industry experience includes automotive, heavy truck, health care, oil and gas, machine tool automation advertising and timber among others with extensive experience in automotive and manufacturing.  Prior to joining Harney Partners, he worked at several national consulting firms, including Alvarez and Marsal, KPMG, and BBK. Prior to consulting he spent over 10 years in commercial banking including being the Chief Commercial Credit Officer of Standard Federal Bank (now Bank of America, Michigan) and various commercial lending positions with NBD Bank (now Chase).

Representative Engagements
Manufacturing

Led the acquisition and restructuring of a distressed automotive supplier, advising multiple OEM’s in in developing and executing options to mitigate risk with distressed suppliers

Energy

Worked a major international oil field supplier throughout its Chapter 11 proceedings.

Large Bank Syndicate

Managed and led a multi-national team advising a large bank syndicate addressing a distressed loan to a timber and power generation borrower.
