With over 25 years of experience in senior leadership, executive operations, capital formation, and turnaround management, Rick specializes in simplifying financial and operational complexities to deliver tailored, integrated solutions. At Harney Partners, Rick guides CFOs, private equity firms, lenders, and other stakeholders through mission-critical and tactical challenges, focusing on operational transformation and financial distress.

Rick has extensive experience in M&A, recapitalization, restructurings (both out-of-court and court-supervised), debtor-side advising, liquidations, and negotiations. He has served in numerous roles including CEO, CFO, CRO, and court- appointed receiver to drive sustainable results.

His industry expertise spans technology, consumer products, education, manufacturing, financial services, licensing, distribution, aerospace, and healthcare. Rick’s approach is centered on providing clarity, momentum, and actionable results that make a lasting impact.

Representative Engagements
Restructuring
  • Restructured a $250M aerospace manufacturer of complex aircraft components and assemblies. Analyzed contract performance and restructured underperforming divisions and implemented cost savings
  • Interim CFO and restructuring role for $200M passport services / professional travel service company with offices in 27 countries.
Financial Advisor
  • Financial advisor to $100M manufacturer/distributor of licensed CPG. Advised on business operations and lead asset-based debt restructuring
  • Lender side FA for $300M big box, national brands distributor of portable heaters, fans and paint supplies. Involved through Chapter 11, 363 and liquidation of assets.
CRO
  • Financial advisor / CRO duties for $50M national educational distributor in forbearance. Developed and maintained 13-week cash plans, provided cost reduction oversight, liquidity improvements and weekly lender reporting
  • CRO for $100M financial services payment processor in ‘card-not-present’ transactions. Secured and controlled $20M in merchant reserve accounts, managed disbursements and improved liquidity while leading business recapitalization initiatives
  • CRO for $120M licensed CPG manufacturer. Evolved to court appointed receiver after 363 bankruptcy sale of assets
Interim CFO
  • Interim CFO for $70M manufacturer making powdered flavors for food with manufacturing in New Jersey and Wisconsin.
Bankruptcy
  • Acted as lead advisory for an electric commercial vehicle bankruptcy
  • Engagement lead for $175M domestic manufacturer of high-end furniture.  Guided two IB processes, supported $20M recapitalization, managed Chapter 11 filing with debtor’s counsel and involved in testimony and conversion to 7 in Wilmington Delaware Court
