Accomplished bankruptcy lawyer and litigator bolsters firm’s growing receivership practice
Harney Partners, a national corporate turnaround and restructuring advisory firm, is pleased to announce that Eric Taube has joined the team as a strategic partner to support client engagements – specifically for cases that warrant a corporate receiver, independent director, bankruptcy trustee or plan/litigation trustee.
During his forty-year legal career, Taube has handled a variety of complex litigation matters in state and federal courts in Texas – and around the country – involving bankruptcy, workouts, banking, real estate/entitlement, business/commercial disputes, fiduciary matters, and securities litigation.
“The continued increase in the use of receivership proceedings, both state and federal, as a flexible tool to address a variety of complex and contentious commercial issues plays into one of our core competencies,” said Greg Milligan, EVP at Harney Partners. “Eric’s demonstrated track record of trust among his peers in the legal community and practical problem solving make him a perfect choice as a receiver or in other fiduciary positions, and we’re thrilled to have him on our team to support client engagements.”
Corporate receivership typically arises when a company is facing severe financial distress or governance disputes. This may include default on debt obligations, insolvency, adverse judgments, shareholder litigation and more.
Taube has served as counsel to debtors, creditors, committees, litigation trusts, bankruptcy trustees, receivers, corporations and individuals in hundreds of matters, including highly controversial and high-profile bet-the-company litigation. He has also served as a receiver and litigation trustee.

Most recently, Eric was Partner at Holland & Knight LLP and has now transitioned into the fiduciary positions described above, as well as an active mediation practice. He earned his law degree from the University of Houston Law Center and his undergraduate degree from Vanderbilt University.
