Appointed by Private Equity Senior Secured lender of a nationally recognized distributor to assume financial & operational control. First stabilized and then successfully returned to profitability by reducing bloated inventory, instilling fiscal discipline, eliminating operational waste and inefficiencies while increasing year over year sales and margins by 20% with no additional outside capital.
Successfully stabilized and then boosted core business of health & wellness group by reorganizing management’s priorities, introducing client profitability tools, and focusing on high margin niche service offerings that quickly differentiated the Company in spite of its highly commoditized marketplace.
Responsible for stabilizing a $400 million distributor in fiscal peril and engineering its turnaround. Immediately secured retention and full participation of Company’s top talent in developing a comprehensive turnaround plan embraced and later buoyed by two national bank partners enabling a comprehensive business transformation including two strategic acquisitions that ultimately increased EBITDA & Sales by 170%.
Reengineered a convoluted capital structure and aligned interests of equity holders, debt holders, & management of healthcare systems group. Reconstructed corporate plan to attract a regional investment bank to lead a recapitalization initiative leveraging key business alliances and a cross-sell opportunity with a national PBM.
Led over 80 corporate transactions involving the sale, merger & formation of financial entities including the very first private equity fund to become a bank holding company. Managed numerous systems, services, life science & distributor based deals, as well as the formation, financing & restructuring of venture capital and angel investor transactions.
Additional roles as financial leader of an internet bank, e-commerce systems group, medical device company, and a wholesale coffee distributor to the hospitality industry.
